Can I operate an original XPS 8-Channel receiver without its case? - flyingw - 04-11-2021 Hi Jim, I've been flying a foamie that is setup like a miniature bush plane with a four servo wing for flaps and ailerons. Ch1 = Left aileron Ch2 = Elevator Ch3 = Throttle Ch4 = Rudder Ch5 = Right Aileron Ch6 = Left flap Ch7 = Right flap Because I needed seven servo outputs I installed a Nano Rx and an X10+(V2) in the plane and all works perfectly. But now I want the X10 for a different project. I am thinking about installing instead an original 8-Channel XPS receiver. With weight at a premium in the little foamie, could I remove the 8-Channel receiver's case and still use it safely? Thanks, Paul RE: Can I operate an original XPS 8-Channel receiver without its case? - flyingw - 04-11-2021 Never mind. I took the case off and it contributes very little weight. And, I suppose it provides good protection. Nano+cable+X10 totals 12.8 grams, 8-Channel receiver is 19.3 grams. Not a big difference.
