Try to run Nano's with Edge Taranis

Too old to fly, need toys.

Trying to set up 4 separate engine running tests using a Taranis 9D plus.
Require Thr. Control on all.
Upgraded to edgetx-x9d+, 2.9.2 XJT_ACCST_2.1.0_FCC.frk

This XJT output binds fine with RM R88 Rx’s and similar.
There is no output option apart from XJT in the Tx.

Extreme nano’s accept and run  XJT from the Xtreme XPS-J1 module but not from the internal Taranis XJT module.
Not into these things, but I thought that XJT is XJT regardless.

Would prefer not to use the J1 module, so is there a way around this?

Is it to do with protocols, in which case just have to live with it. 

Any thoughts?

Xtreme Power Systems Nano and RFU receivers (and older 8 and 10 channel receivers) talk only to Xtreme Power Systems transmitter modules like the J1.  In the case of the Taranis, the Taranis output to the external module (J1) bay can be set to either PPM or XJT protocols.  Then, the XPS transmitter J1 module talks with the Nano or other Xtreme Power Systems receiver using an Xtreme Power Systems-specific protocol.  If you configured the transmitter and J1 module to communicate using PPM (instead of XJT), the J1 module would still talk to the receiver using the Xtreme Power Systems protocol.

The Taranis internal RF system speaks XJT directly to FrSky, RM and possibly other receivers; an XPS receiver will not relate directly to the XJT protocol.  There is no other transmitter product that I know of that can talk directly to Xtreme Power System receivers - only Xtreme Power Systems transmitter modules.

However, on the bright side, I have hundreds of successful flights without incident using the Xtreme Power systems XPS-J1 module, Taranis and Xtreme Power Systems receivers.

Thanks for that, just what I had thought.
Been using XPS since it first became available, and remember all the c**p that was pushed out at it.
Have stuck with it as totally reliable in JR, RM Tx's too.
Always trying to push for more, so will just buy a couple of other brand Rx to keep the Taranis active.

Just waiting on all this new stuff to arrive.
