The X10 with a Spektrum satellite receiver should be a good setup. I use X10s in many of my airplanes and I like the ability to locate the receiver out of the way of other parts and equipment in the airplane that could block the signal in certain orientations.
Also, if your RadioMaster T16 can transmit ELRS, then you may be able to take advantage of a nice capability coming in the future. XPS have proposed a new X10+v3 that could support the CRSF protocol as a serial input (like the existing X10s take Xtreme or SBUS as an input). CRSF is the serial protocol that ELRS receivers use to talk to flight controllers.
