ok small success.
i used the radiomaster R88 which also has an SBUS futaba (non-inverted) output. connecting it to the x10+ v2 programmed to 2 flashes=Futaba SBUS WORKS!!!.
the R88 is a 8 channel receiver but still has an SBUS output.
so now i ordered the R81 v2 - satellite receiver which should work the same way.
the R88 is about 2x the size of the RFU so not ideal for tight glider fuselage space.
so this confirms that i probably did the programming right but the spm4951T just does not work with DSMX from the x10
update:
so far no crash with my sail plane but LQI routinely goes to the low 70%. i just did another set of experiment:
monitoring the LQI during range test. not sure why i did not try this one before
1. with TX antenna i only can walk away about 2m to got below 60% and connection degrades or breaks
2. with TX antenna about 20m
