X10+v1 and v2 and failsafe
#1
I have a model set up with a receiver talking SBUS to an X10+v1.  To set the failsafe servo positions I first power up the transmitter and airplane and operate the controls and make sure that the servos are working correctly.  Then I press the programming button on the X10 and wait until it goes off, then blinking alternating red and green.  Then release.

Only thing, when I press the programming button the led never goes off, it just blinks on and off green.  Same behavior with the X10+v2.

It works as described in the manual when the receiver and X10 are configured for Extreme protocol, but not SBUS.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Paul

Make sure that the FAILSAFE OVERRIDE is setup so the X10+ controls the failsafe, and not the receiver. This setting is ignored by XPS receivers in Xtreme mode.

Roger that. I checked and confirmed that I had FAILSAFE OVERRIDE in effect (two green blinks).

I reckon this is another case where the SBUS is not standard, as the X10's led flickers 3 times per second. Turns out that the ELRS protocol robs a time slot that normally carries an SBUS frame and substitutes a telemetry frame in that slot. My telemetry rate is about 3 packets per second, so that may account for that 3 times per second flickering at the X10.

Could be that the non-standard SBUS prevents the X10 from going into "set failsafe" mode.

The X10+ will never go into failsafe mode if receives at least one good packet within the failsafe time.
