X16 Sequencer
#1
Jim,

X16 setup. TX16S. Have set up all ch OK.
Not getting the sequencers I want.
Retracts and doors, Ch 5 on 3 pos switch.
X16 Ports A2 and B2 output from Ch 5.
Servos work OK.

Now to the sequencer: Trigger at 1500.
Tx Ch 5 Sw up Seq#1 triggers doors down. Port A2
Tx Ch 5 Sw up Seq#2 triggers gear down.   Port B2
Not set up yet.
Tx Ch 5 Sw dn Seq#3 triggers gear up.        Port B2
Tx Ch 5 Sw dn Seq#4 triggers doors up.      Port A2

When all sequencers disabled, servos work. Expected.
One enabled, wrong servo works.
Both enabled, nothing works.

So tried duplicating Ch5 as Ch13 in Tx.
Ch 5 Seq#1  doors down. Port A2
Ch 13 Seq#2 gear down.  Port B2
Same thing.  Tx outputs do show in X16.

From reading the X16 manual am I misunderstanding the process?
Quite possible.
Can set it up from the Tx, but reckon that the X16 should do it too.

Cheers,

The output ports you assign are what outputs should be affected by the sequencer. Make sure that you have any output port turned OFF (in the OUTPUT PORTS menu) for any output ports you want to use with the sequencer.

Thanks,

Apart from turning ports off in output port menu, I had it right.
( I thought that this was overidden by default)

We just loop through the sequencers.

Sequencers off, A2 and B2 assigned to Ch5 in output menu.
Both servos move.

I have to use a 3 pos switch for retracts in this Tx.

Turn Ch5  A2 and B2 off in output menu.
Turn A2 and B2 for Ch5 on in sequencer menu.
No delays, both set to required levels for trigger, Doors down, oleo down, oleo up, doors up.
Everything's fine apart from sequencing. Huh

It doesn't matter if you use a 2, 3, or more position switch. You just need to make sure that you have the trigger point set correctly. Why do you need a 3 position switch? You really only need a two position switch - either gear is up or gear is down. The sequencer can handle anything that you need to occur for each position.

Can you give us the exact sequence of events that you need to occur? Do you have split gear doors or single? How many gear?

This should be very simple to setup.

I agree, simple, works with a 3rd party sequencer driven off Ch5.

A 3 pos Sw is used because the TX16S only has a  single 2 pos Sw available, used elsewhere.

Single doors on Seq#1
Gear on Seq#2

Doors down
Pause
Gear down

Gear up
Pause
Doors up

With a new unit sometimes we can't see the wood for the trees.
When I receive your set up I can verify whether I am suffering Alzheimers or there is something amiss with the unit.

Opened a second X16 unit, can't make the sequencer work either.
Have been a very long time user of Xtreme products and think I know my way around them.
A 3rd party sequencer drives servos from any port I want,  so either I am missing something here, or the X16's are faulty.

We have not had any other customers (and these are used primarily with the jet crowd, because of the sequencer) state they had any issues. We will grab one and try setting it up per our manual to see if we have missed something.

This is where I'm at.
I'm assuming that this is just a case sort of loop and no condition is being met.
20 years since I have done any coding.

Tested the outputs from the sequencer. Full V. is there.
Output ports A2, B2 OFF

Hi,

Any results yet?
Does your copy work at this stage?
If my fault, let me know, no problems.
If another issue perhaps a progress item.
XPS gear is first class, and I want to get on.

Yes, we can not find anything wrong with the sequencer operation per the instructions in the our manual.

You should be able to test just a single sequence, turn off the output port in the OUTPUT PORTS menu and use that output port with any channel.
