Xtreme
Power Systems releases new 3 channel surface receiver!
We are pleased to announce the
release of our new 3 channel "surface" receiver. This new
receiver represents the 2nd generation of our already successful
hardware. The new hardware features extremely low voltage
operation (down to 2.0 volts!), a new multi-colored status LED,
and the ability to have its firmware flashed using our XDP or
Telemetry Station. Comes with v3.x firmware pre-installed.
This receiver is designed for
ground based vehicles (not for use on water), and has been
extensively tested in everything from 1/10th scale oval to 1/8th
scale nitro.
BETA
Firmware Updater Software Released!
We have released a beta version
of our firmware updater. This updater requires that you
have already upgraded your XtremeLink® system to v3.0 or later.
It is not possible to upgrade v2.x devices to v3.x devices due to
a firmware change necessary to the RF module. This updater
will update receivers to v3.4, transmitter modules to v3.4, and
satellite receivers to v1.1.
This updater works with both
the XDP and Telemetry Station devices.
Although we have tested this
software with numerous systems, there is always a possibility of
firmware updaters being interrupted in the middle of the update,
making the device unusable. Please use a full battery when
performing the updates and never unplug the USB cable from the
computer during the update process! If you receive a
"success" message then your firmware has been successfully
upgraded.
Put your XtremeLink® receiver
or transmitter module into computer programming mode before
running the updater.
The updater can be found here:

New
XDP/Telemetry Station Software
We are releasing the changes we
have made to support v3.x of the firmware with the XDP and
Scanner programs. RxDiag.exe was already v3.x compatible.
TxDiag.exe is still not compatible with hopping modes other than
1 (the original predictive hopping mode). We are in the
process of updating the TxDiag.exe program. The Scanner.exe
program fully support v3.x now and allows recording/playing back
long datastreams properly. Localization has been done with
the Scanner.exe and some of the XDP.exe program. When
completed, we will have language support for 15 different
languages.
The new software can be
downloaded from the XDP webpage, located
here.

More
Telemetry Station and XDP updates!
Several updates have
occurred in the last 2 days. We had to change the
Windows installer method to support Windows XP and Vista
properly. Please download the latest FULL installer to
update your software! You can get the new installer
here.
The Telemetry Station support
page has been updated with detailed information about the Scanner
utility. We will be adding the full developer information
along with schematics and source code for an example sensor that
you can build. We have contacted all companies that
currently make telemetry sensors, offering our help to integrate
their products with ours. If you are a developer and wish
to integrate your product with ours, please contact the technical
support department (tech@xtremepowersystems.net)
for a developer ID number.
XPS News!
Xtreme Power Systems has
been extremely busy doing upgrades for Telemetry Station
owners, and making improvements to the various XDP and
Telemetry Station utilities. We have spent the last 10
days working with the USB hardware manufacturer to resolve
some issues with the USB support via Windows XP and Vista.
We believe that we have corrected most (if not all) of the
issues that have been reported. All items returned for
the telemetry upgrade have been shipped back to their owners.
We appreciate your patience during this unexpected delay.
It is on rare occasion
that we come across published information that echoes what we
have been trying to tell the public about how crucial proper
setup and power is for the success of a model. We
purchase our servos and various other hardware from Don's
Hobby Shop (www.donshobbyshop.com). Don has been around
for 44 years, and has seen it all. In our last order,
we received a 3 page white paper titled "Servo Setup Issues".
We were so impressed with the wisdom in this paper that we
called and asked Don if we could provide this information to
our customers. To download a scanned copy of the paper,
This is a definite must-read, no matter how long you have
been in the hobby.
We had a period of time
last week where none of our emails for tech support and sales
were getting to us. This was due to us registering the
domain name "www.xtremepowersystems.com".
We attempted to move everything to the new domain and it
caused serious issues. So, we restored everything and
just made the new domain link to the existing .net location.
We apologize for not responding to those emails which we lost
during this time.
New

"tray" type radios. Also, our Telemetry Station has
been added. Telemetry sensors are in production and
will be available shortly.
XPS helps
set the world record!
During the AMA meeting at the
Joe Nall event in South Carolina, AMA district rep Tony
Stillman gave a presentation on the outcome of the world record
flying attempt at SEFF. Tony stated that XPS, Spektrum,
and FASST 2.4GHz radio systems made up the 59 of 113 radio
systems used to set the world record. XPS radio systems
performed flawlessly.
At Joe Nall, XPS sponsored
pilots flew jets, large 3D aircraft (a beautiful 46% Ultimate
Biplane was amazing), and high speed wings. RiteWingRC (www.ritewingrc.com)
gave a spectacular demo, which included Jason Schulman doing
165mph aerobatics 1 foot off the deck! Graupner factory
pilots dazzled the crowd with high speed and precision
aerobatic glider flying.
Special thanks go out to our
XPS pilots, RiteWingRC, and our European distributor Graupner
for providing pilots and their support! We look forward
to another spectacular event at Joe Nall next year!
Surface
systems released!
Xtreme Power Systems is
pleased to announce the release of 2.4GHz upgrades for surface
radios! Airtronics M8/M11, Futaba 3PJ/3PK, and Hitec CRX/SRX
radios are now supported. We also have released our 3
channel micro receiver, designed for ground based surface
vehicles.
These new products can be
found in the PRODUCTS area of our shopping system.
