XJT-D16 versus PPM latency - flyingw - 06-09-2021 Jim, I was thinking about the latency in my RC systems. I believe that my Futaba 9C transmitter delivers a new set of channel positions by way of PPM to the XPS transmitter module every 22,5 millisecinds. Using the XJT-D16 protocol the Taranis delivers a new set of channel positions to the XPS JR-type module every 18 milliseconds. This means I gain about 4.5 milliseconds using XJT-D16. If I happened to be using all 16 channels I would be about twice as fast with XJT-D16 than I would be with PPM. Is that correct? Thanks, Paul RE: XJT-D16 versus PPM latency - XPS - 06-09-2021 Yes, that is correct. However, a human is not able to discern latency differences below about 25ms. |
