Information Binding your XtremeLink® system
Posted by: XPS - 06-29-2018, 04:25 PM - Forum: XtremeLink Radio System - No Replies

Here is a step-by-step guide for binding your system (single receiver).

Always start any binding procedure by turning off your transmitter and power off all receivers.

Binding 8 and 10 channel receivers, or RFU:

  • Apply power to your receiver.
  • When the receiver's LED is flashing RED, press and hold the programming button on the receiver until the LED turns GREEN, and then release the programming button.  The LED will now flash orange, indicating it is in binding mode.
  • Press and hold the button labeled PROG on your transmitter module while turning on the power to your transmitter.  If you are using an internal module (like an EVO or Profi), press and hold the button on the board while turning on the power.
  • Wait for the LED on the transmitter module (or internal board) to turn green and release the button.
  • The units will immediately bind.
  • The LED on the transmitter module (or internal board) will now be green.
  • The LED on the receiver will now be green.
  • Power off the transmitter and receiver.
  • They are now ready to be used.

Binding a single Nano receiver:
  • Apply power to your receiver.
  • When the receiver's LED is flashing, attach the jumper (provided with your receiver) to the port labeled "B" (binding/battery).  Leave the jumper on until the LED turns solid, then remove the jumper.  The LED will now be flashing fast, indicating it is in binding mode.
  • The LED on the receiver will now be off.
  • Power off the transmitter and receiver.
  • They are now ready to be used.

Binding multiple Nano receivers:
  • Apply power to your receiver.
  • When the receiver's LED is flashing, attach the jumper (provided with your receiver) to the port labeled "B" (binding/battery).  Leave the jumper on until the LED turns solid, then remove the jumper.  The LED will now be flashing fast, indicating it is in master binding mode.
  • ALL slave receivers must be put into slave binding mode.  Attaching the jumper for two seconds and removing it will make the LED turn solid red, indicating the receiver is in slave binding mode.  Repeat this process for all slave receivers.  Leave the last receiver in master binding mode.  Note: each receiver being bound MUST be left powered up and ready to bind to the transmitter.  ALL of the receivers are bound at the exact same time to the transmitter!
  • The LED on all receiver will now be off.
  • Power off the transmitter and receiver.
  • They are now ready to be used.

Note: slave receivers will automatically have their channel mapping changed so that channels 6 through 12 appear on output ports 1 through 6.  You will need the XDP (or Serial Link with Nano) to change the channel mapping if required.

Note about the RFU - as stated in the manual, you *must* have the RFU connected to an expander unit before binding.  The expander provides the power to the RFU, and the expander/RFU becomes a "receiver".

Here is the official guide for using the XDP.

The Serial Link also uses the same XDP software, but only the XDP.exe program can be used.
