What is the safe voltage range for the XPS-J1 module?
The reason I am asking is because I have the XPS-J1 installed in a Taranis transmitter body. Most of the models in that Taranis use the XJT-D16 protocol, but two of them are configured to send SBUS out (for DragonLink) through the external module bay into which the XPS-J1 is currently installed. The Taranis indicates that the voltage for its SBUS output is at the battery voltage, around eight volts.
If I were to accidentally change to a model that uses SBUS while the XPS-J1 is still installed, would the SBUS signal and voltage levels damage the XPS-J1?

RFU push button has no effect |

Jim,
I have an RFU working in conjunction with an X10+v2 that is currently bound to one of my transmitters. This RFU and X10 setup works perfectly to operate the controls.
I wanted to bind the RFU to a different transmitter by following this procedure:
1. Power on the RFU by powering up the X10+v2 to which it is currently connected
2. Observe flashing red LED
3. Press the button until the LED turns solid green
With the button pressed, the RFU's LED just kept flashing red and never went into binding mode. I tried several times, even holding it for as long as ten seconds - no change from flashing to green.
Could the push button have gone bad?
Note that that the RFU is currently configured with its failsafe OFF and is talking Xtreme Fast to the X10+v2.
I tried again after disconnecting the RFU from the X10 and applied power directly using a 4.8v battery. Same behavior - red flashing LED, but no change to green after pushing the button.
Please tell me if there is something I'm doing wrong, or if the RFU needs to be repaired. Thank you,

I am a long time customer of yours and I’ve been away from the hobby for a few years taking care of life stuff. Then of course Covid and the great chip shortage happened. You guys have been offline out of inventory for 2-3 years now? I recently saw your web page that was there before your new relaunching soon page that is there now. You said you bought a drone company or large application drone part producing company and with the supply chain shortage you decided not to produce RC equipment to feed the other business. I guess that makes good business sense, but you kinda left us out to dry. Additionally you will no longer honor your lifetime warranty you promised on the 8 and 10 channel receivers, of which I have 12 of and you can no longer repair them either?
Why in the heck would I continue to buy your equipment when you are discontinuing some and not able to service your own products? Producing a limited line of products you can’t even keep in stock. Are you guys gonna be an RC receiver company or not? You had that forum where you talked about some new fancy Transmitter you were going to be producing… WTH happened with that? Why should I believe your web page that you are coming back in early 2024 with a whole new line of products now that I’m sitting on a pile of old non serviceable products? I liked you radio systems a lot but how can you expect to grow your brand if you periodically disappear, shut off, or discontinue what you put out there? Maybe you should just stick to what drives you, $$$$ and stop jerking us modelers around.

Change in binding behavior with Futaba 9C and Nano Rx |

I observed yesterday a new and different behavior when binding a Nano Rx to an XPS Futaba transmitter module in my Futaba 9C transmitter.
I configured the Nano for binding with its LED blinking fast. Then I turned on the transmitter while holding the PROG button. When I released the PROG button the bind did not occur. At the time I had the transmitter located about two or three feet from the Nano Rx. It finally completed the binding when I moved the transmitter antenna to within two inches of the Nano.
I have a second Futaba Tx module and I put it in the same transmitter body and repeated the test with the same Nano Rx. The binding process completed immediately with the Nano even when the transmitter was several feet away.
After performing another "two-inch" bind with the suspect transmitter module, I performed a range test with the program button pressed for low power and went more than 150 feet away without any loss of control.
In my experience, XPS transmitter modules (both Futaba and JR) seemed to always successfully bind with XPS receivers when located several feet away. This working distance is typical during bench testing and setup.
What I have now is a transmitter module that won't bind with a receiver until it is located two inches or closer. This same transmitter module and receiver pair delivers good range in a range test.
I'm grounding the transmitter module, and in the meantime kindly want your opinion about it.

XPS,
When I bind a Nano Rx to an XPS transmitter module in my Taranis transmitter, does it care which "model" entry is active in the Taranis?
If I bind a receiver to airplane A, then bind the same receiver to airplane B, it is bound to airplane B, right?
So, I think that a model (say airplane A) can be bound to multiple receivers, but one receiver cannot be bound to multiple transmitters.
Is that correct?

I'm using a G45 with RCXcel ignition. I have a hose clamp on the spark plug connection. The ignition module is in front of the firewall, and about 10-12" ahead of the nano. The throttle connection is via nyrod.
I'm using Frsky with the appropriate XPS TX module. The throttle is set to channel 1. When I start the engine, the throttle servo oscillates and kills the engine in short order.
I'm wondering if I can move all the servos up one channel and leave channel 1 vacant - would the interference follow and move on to the next channel or just stay on #1?
I got to wondering about this since my buddy had the same setup but using Futaba - his ailerons were getting hit (Futaba is A-E-T-R). His solution was a satellite Rx moved up into the center section of the top wing with a separate battery. Both of us have the ignition on a separate battery.
